Jason Lopes – Lead Systems Engineer at Legacy Effects

Jason will discuss how 3D scanning and 3D printing have enabled the creation of some of Hollywood’s most amazing special effects, including work on the movies Iron Man 3, RoboCop (2014), The Bourne Legacy, Pacific Rim, and the Hunger Games. Legacy Effects has transformed the special effects department from a post-production component of filmmaking to something that informs the filmmaking process.

Human Foosball and Happy Hour Networking Reception

WESTEC 2015 is full of fun activities! Join us for our human foosball networking reception. It’s just like the popular table game, but a lot more fun. That’s because two 6-people teams are tethered together, trying to keep the other team from scoring. It’s almost as much fun to watch as it is to play.

Registration for the reception is $5 and all funds collected will be donated to charity! Teams will be randomly assembled — a great opportunity to meet new contacts. Get ready to have a ball!
